Location: Mesero – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Date: January 4, 2017

“The third album by Solange Knowles, A Seat at the Table, is a record about black survival in 2016; a combination of straight talk and refracted R&B for what she calls her “project on identity, empowerment, independence, grief and healing.” – Rolling Stone

Amanda Bell who hosted this great event, chose the theme, “A Seat at the Table.” If you have listened to the album you’ll understand the reason behind it. To dig a little deeper, if you are a person of color life isn’t so great right now. To give you a little more information about Amanda and her group, BWLBrunch. BWLBrunch stands for “Because Women Love Brunch” which is totally true! The group brings the ultimate brunch soiree connecting goal oriented, positive, and like – minded women. BWLBrunch creates a safe haven that allows you to let your guard down and create accelerated relationships among women that will help propel you to a better version of yourself.

I had a great time at the event, and I will attend another. I met a lot of great women, who has the same goals and aspirations that I do. As a woman it’s hard to network with other women, because of all types of foolishness. I referenced in my story on Branding, women can be your biggest advocate! It’s room at the top for everyone to eat. Nobody can take a place that God has set for you. So never fear another powerful woman, embrace them.

To top it all off Amanda chose a phenomenal venue, and the brunch was exquisite! Curls, who is one of my favs, helped sponsor the event and gave us some great goodies! To top it off we had the lovely Aye Ciara (Hair and Fashion Vlogger) provide some positive and encouraging words for us. I encourage you to check out Ms. Amanda Bell, and join the movement! We can do this together!
